Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin instructs to increase vaccination rates

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered. Currently, there is an increase in the incidence of coronavirus in Kazakhstan, especially in Almaty, Nur-Sultan and the West Kazakhstan region, which have entered the red zone. The number of cases is growing in Almaty, Karaganda, Akmola and Atyrau regions. The virus reproductive rate in the republic is 1.1. The workload of infectious diseases hospitals is 24%, intensive care beds — 16%. Over the past day, 954 cases of CVI+ and 7 cases of CVI- were registered.

The country has launched the production of a Russian vaccine and is expected to register a domestic vaccine. Vaccination of the population began in February. To date, over 95 thousand people have been vaccinated. The first were medical workers, then teachers, law enforcement officers. All those who received the vaccine are in good health, have shown normal tolerance to the drug and the absence of adverse reactions. In April, the number of vaccinated people will be significantly expanded, incl. among the older generation.

The head of government noted that ensuring the availability and mass scale of vaccination is a top priority in the fight against the pandemic.

“Vaccination will allow the formation of collective immunity in the population and limit the further spread of the infection. It is this factor that is very important in the fight against the pandemic, as well as in the restoration of economic growth,” Mamin said.

In order to increase the number of vaccinated people, the prime minister ordered to additionally deploy vaccination rooms with the necessary conditions for storing and transporting vaccines, to strengthen information and explanatory work with citizens.

“On the websites of akimats there is no detailed information about vaccination, its benefits, the addresses of vaccination points. It is necessary to organize seminars among the public and medical workers to form the correct opinion among the population about the importance of vaccination,” Mamin said.

The Ministry of Healthcare was instructed until the end of March this year. to monitor the readiness of vaccination points and resolve all issues for the timely delivery of the required amount of vaccine.

The regional akimats were instructed to ensure that the population complies with restrictive measures, especially in mass groups and educational organizations, to prevent entertainment events with a large crowd of people, together with the ministries of internal affairs, health — to strengthen the work of monitoring groups and strictly prosecute violators.

The Ministry of Healthcare, together with akimats, was instructed to promptly respond to foci of disease and adjust restrictive measures.

“All contact persons with a sick person should be monitored with mandatory testing for coronavirus. At the same time, do not reduce the level of daily PCR tests,” Mamin said.
