Askar Mamin discusses implementation of meat processing project in Kazakhstan with management of Tyson Foods

Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting with Tyson Foods President for International Business Christopher Langholz.

The issues of the development of the modern agro-multiprotein industry in Kazakhstan were discussed.

In accordance with the agreement signed in December 2019 during the visit of the Prime Minister Askar Mamin to the United States, Tyson Foods, together with the Kazakh company Kusto Group, plans to open a full cycle of beef production in Kazakhstan.

So, at the first stage, it is planned to build a modern meat processing complex in the Republic of Kazakhstan with a capacity of at least 2 thousand heads per day. The enterprise will not only meet the needs of the Kazakhstani market, but also export products to foreign markets.

The implementation of the project will stimulate the development of the meat industry and other related sectors of the agro-industrial complex — veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering, fodder farming, the creation of feedlots, etc. Tens of thousands of new jobs will be created in the agriculture of Kazakhstan.

The production cycle will be accompanied by information and consulting services to Kazakhstani farmers based on the model of the American service Extension, which includes consultations, training of local personnel and vocational training.

Tyson Foods was founded in 1935, the company's turnover is $43.1 billion, the number of employees is 139 thousand people.
