The Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Sagadiyev told about the work done to implement this step in the framework of the press conference in the Government.

"This year about 500 class-sets in the framework of the experiment and with the written consent of parents want to switch to teaching in English. During the year we will monitor the process and in the next year we will sum up the results and adopt the final schedule for the transition to teaching in three languages at the senior level," Y. Sagadiyev said.

To transfer to English in 10-11 grades, 4 subjects were identified: "Physics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Informatics". The development of textbooks and teaching materials on the subjects of the natural science cycle in English is under way.

In higher education, 50% of the subjects will be taught in the language of tuition (Kazakh or Russian), 20% in the second language (Russian or Kazakh, respectively), 30% in English. Since 2016, 30% of basic and profiling disciplines in English have already been taught at universities.
