Government considers the draft Agro-processing Roadmap

At the meeting of the Government, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the issue of measures for the development of agricultural products processing and launch of the Agro-processing Roadmap were considered.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Myrzakhmetov reported on the developed draft map of the location of agro-processing enterprises in the areas within which the tasks of maximizing the loading of the existing capacities of processing enterprises, the modernization and construction of new processing enterprises are to be accomplished.

The development of agro-processing will ensure the achievement of a given average annual growth rate of gross output and will ensure the growth of labor productivity in the agro-industrial complex to the level of 2016 by 18.6% and the reduction of imports from 32% to 25%. The implementation of the Roadmap will allow increasing the gross production of processing products from 1.9 to 3 trillion tenge and create 7 thousand jobs.

At the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Atameken NCE, the Chairman of the Council of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan Yu. Yakupbayev, the Vice President of the Union of Food Enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Nauryzgaliyev, Akims of Karaganda and Almaty regions E. Koshanov, A. Batalov made reports.

Summing up the consideration of this issue, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev instructed the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of Agriculture A. Myrzakhmetov to finalize the draft Agro-processing Roadmap taking into account the proposals of the Atameken NCE, public organizations and food industry associations.
