Dauren Abayev

 

Dauren Abayev was born in 1979 in the Almaty region. In 2001, he graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in 2006 — Leiden University.

In 2001-2003, he was a referent, Attaché, Third Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2003, he was Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan.

In 2003-2007, he was Second Secretary, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands.

In 2007 he became Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2007-2009, he was an expert, Consultant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2009-2011, he was State Inspector of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2011, he was Press Secretary, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2016-2019, he was Minister of Information and Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2019-2020, he was Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2020-2022, he was First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On Jan. 11, 2022, by Presidential Decree, he was appointed Minister of Culture and Sports.
