The main events of the week from Dec. 23 to 28, 2019

An emergency meeting was held on Friday, December 27, at the Akorda residence, chaired by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, with the participation of the prime minister, the leadership of the Presidential Administration, the secretary of the Security Council, the prosecutor general, the chairman of the National Security Committee, the ministers of the interior, information and public development, healthcare in connection with the crash of a passenger plane near the airport of Almaty.

On the same day, the Prime Minister Askar Mamin chaired a meeting of the Government Commission to investigate the causes of the crash of the Bek Air airline. The prime minister instructed to comprehensively investigate the causes of the crash and provide assistance to the families of the victims.

At the regular meeting of the Government, the draft of the new edition of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan was approved. In addition, the situation on the roads in connection with difficult weather conditions and the issue of developing the sectors of the “economy of simple things,” local content and import substitution were discussed.

On Tuesday, in the presence of Prime Minister Askar Mamin, an investment agreement was signed between NK KazAvtoZhol JSC and the Consortium of Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection Co., LTD and Computer Vision Technologies LLP.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Askar Mamin chaired a meeting on the development of beef cattle breeding at the Ministry of Agriculture.

On Dec. 26, Prime Minister Askar Mamin made a working trip to Zhambyl region as part of ensuring the implementation of the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development initiated by the First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, as well as the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on social and economic development of the region.

In the region, the head of government took part in the signing of an investment agreement on the construction and operation of a plant for the production of mineral fertilizers at EuroChem JSC and in the launch of the 3rd production line of the Saule confectionery factory. The prime minister also familiarized himself with the construction project of the Zhanatas wind farm, inspected the preparations for the construction of a soda ash plant in Qazaqsoda LLP in 2020-2022, visited the mineral fertilizer plant of Kazphosphate LLP, the Regional Museum of Local History and the Art Gallery under Historical and ethnocultural complex "Kune Taraz."
