Minister of Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek has announced the deadline for completing the construction of the Astana-Pavlodar highway.

“Regarding the Astana-Pavlodar highway: this year will see the completion of about 230 km, additionally, we will open access on 100km. But there are three problematic sections, we have discussed this. These are sections where the Iranian company "Dena" used to work, which after the tenge rate change in 2015-2016, had certain problems, and we were forced to terminate the contracts with this company. Contracts were terminated on three sections along Pavlodar, as well as one section in South Kazakhstan region,” – Zhenis Kassymbek said, answering the questions of the Deputies during the plenary session of the Majilis.

As the Minister noted, new contractors are operating at these sites: "The whole problem is precisely the completion of work on these sites. We have funds allocated for 2018 to complete this section, and there are no funds for this in the draft budget for 2019, meaning that we have to completely finish this site in 2018,” – Zhenis Kassymbek assured.
