Today, as part of his working visit to Karaganda region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev familiarized himself with the progress of the reconstruction of the Center-South transport corridor on the Karaganda-Temirtau highway section, carried out within the framework of the Nurly Zhol state program.

On the Karaganda-Temirtau highway section, works are carried out on laying and reinforcing the concrete covering. Director of the Karaganda branch of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol Kanat Shaimin reported on the progress of the reconstruction of the highway and the anticipated completion.

The Center-South transport corridor, the reconstruction of which began as part of the Nurly Zhol Infrastructure Development State Program in 2015, is of great importance for the country's economy. The corridor will contribute to the development of transport and logistics potential and will allow Kazakhstan to integrate into the world transport routes and to increase the volumes of international transit transportation.

In addition, interregional communication will be increased; transportation range and time spent in transit for vehicles will be reduced. At the same time, traffic safety and the ecological situation of areas adjacent to the highway will improve.

The reconstruction promotes development of roadside services and creation of new workplaces. At the same time, modern requirements are imposed on the arrangement of camping sites, gas stations and other facilities along the road of National importance.

For reference:

Reconstruction of the Center-South transport corridor on the section of the Karaganda-Temirtau National Highway is divided into 3 sections: 1) construction of 2 transport interchanges (No.1 Temirtau Ring and No.2 Karaganda Highway) and a railway overpass, 2) Reconstruction of the main road with 2 bridges and 13 culverts, 3) construction of 2 transport interchanges.
