In accordance with the labor legislation of Kazakhstan employees are entitled to choose trade union

Today in the Government at the press conference on the implementation of the third direction "Industrialization and Economic Growth" of the Plan of the Nation "100 concrete steps", the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duissenova spoke about the activities of trade unions for the protection of workers' rights.

In Kazakhstan today there are 467 trade union organizations, 154 of them are created under the new Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Trade Unions" from the beginning of 2016.

"We gave an opportunity to the workers of one enterprise to create several trade unions and choose the one that, in their opinion, better protects their rights," T. Duissenova said.

The activity of trade unions within the framework of the new Labor Code has become more effective. For example, the development of the code took into account the issue of payment for work at night and over time. When monitoring 364 republican and about 3000 regional enterprises, it became clear that the rights of employees in this matter are not violated in any enterprise, on the contrary, payment is not in a one and a half, but in a two-fold amount of a one-hour rate.

In addition, T. Duissenova reported that in accordance with the amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Migration of the Population", the procedures for attracting foreign workers have been simplified. At the same time, the requirements for the qualification of workers attracted from abroad are toughened.

"As of July 1, 2017, 27000 foreign workers work on the territory of Kazakhstan. This is 0.4% of the total number of the employed population of Kazakhstan," the Minister said.
