Quarantine is not a restriction on providing Kazakhstanis with necessities – Tugzhanov

The plan to ensure stable life of the country in the event of a long COVID-19 pandemic in Kazakhstan is fully developed and approved. This was said at the site of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the online briefing by the Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov.

“Today, a sufficient supply of food, hygiene products, essentials and ] medical supplies has been collected in the state reserve. In addition, today there is an agreement with manufacturers in Kazakhstan and exporters from other countries to supply the necessary products to our country,” the deputy prime minister assured.

Customs points operate in the usual mode, but are aimed only at the passage of freight transport.

According to Tugzhanov, the introduction of quarantine is not a restriction on providing citizens with everything necessary. Social and economic stability in the country is the main task of the state and the Government.

“In Kazakhstan, there is a high level of food security, Kazakhstan in its main positions provides the domestic market with its own production. I want to say that a rather high share of imports for only four products is sugar, chicken, salt and butter. On these products, there is a specific agreement with manufacturers-exporters. There will be no interruptions in this matter and should not be. In general, today we are not dependent on imports of socially significant goods,” the deputy prime minister added.
