By 2025, all educational programs to be updated taking into account professional standards — Ministry of Education and Science

Today at the press conference in the Government, Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov spoke about the stages of updating educational programs in educational institutions.

As part of the implementation of the new State Program for the Development of Education and Science for 2020-2025, the task is to 100% update educational programs in accordance with professional standards.

We need to update educational programs in colleges and universities. This is vital. The quality of education is when a product meets some standard. In this case, educational programs need professional standards that are formed by employers,” said the minister of education and science.

So, the Government is currently doing a lot of work to prepare professional standards.

In this case, employers themselves form and say what competencies they expect from university graduates in one or another specialty. Currently, many professional standards have already been prepared, and our task is to analyze them and transfer them to educational programs,” Aimagambetov noted.

According to the minister, 100 professional standards are ready for today. By the end of the year, about 400 professional standards should be prepared. Now all college and university programs must meet the expectations of employers.

For example, if the employer says which programming languages are most needed for the IT professional, then we must lay these programming languages in our educational institutions. From this point, we are interested in professional standards. We plan that in the near future these programs will be updated,” the minister said.

It should be noted that within the framework of the Zhas Maman project, the material and technical base of 180 colleges will be updated, for which 58 billion tenge are provided from the budget. The program of free vocational education will annually reach 100 thousand students. And the number of students enrolled in dual education will reach 35%. The employment rate of college graduates will increase from 63% to 75%.

In addition, the minister of education and science spoke about the conditions for teaching children at home.

Under the current legislation, we provide home-based education for those who have appropriate health indications. For this, conditions are created: a teacher comes, an individual program is compiled. In general, we are for children to specialize, learn with their peers and gain important life skills in society, so we believe that schooling is very necessary and vital, so we will create conditions for the child to be happy in school,” said the head of the department.

It is worth noting that in the framework of the new state program in schools, an educational culture will be strengthened, which includes questions of the behavior of children with parents and teachers.

In particular, the minister emphasized that in order to support the mental health of the child, comprehensive work will be carried out in schools with the involvement of parents and the children themselves. Parents play an important role in the psychological state of the child and his perception of society.

To strengthen this work in Kazakhstani educational institutions, qualifications for school psychologists will be improved, and the social and psychological service will be strengthened.
