Prime Minister Askar Mamin holds a meeting on development of Turkestan city

In Turkestan the Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting on the implementation of the Head of State’s instructions on the development of the city.

At the meeting, issues of life support and development of the city, including the provision of engineering infrastructure, as well as development prospects as a new growth point of the economy, business and tourism were considered.

“With his historic decision, Elbasy ordered to create the Turkestan region and develop Turkestan not only as a new regional center, but also as a cultural and spiritual center of the entire Turkic world,” said Mamin, stressing that “thanks to the strategic decision of the Head of State, a dynamic impetus was given for the prosperity of this region."

The Prime Minister noted that large-scale construction began in Turkestan. In order to fulfill the instructions of the President, the Government has taken concrete measures. Thus, as part of the budget refinement, proposals for construction are fully supported and the necessary funds will be allocated in full, through the implementation of projects, engineering and communication infrastructure and transport infrastructure will be provided, and in order to increase the pace of construction, appropriate legislative changes are being made.

The Akim of the Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev reported on the fulfillment of the President’s instructions on the construction of Turkestan and further plans for the development of the city. Vice ministers of culture and sports Yerlan Kozhagapanov, industry and infrastructure development — Kairbek Uskenbayev, energy — Magzum Mirzagaliev reported on the ongoing work on the improvement of the historical and cultural center, including the process of coordinating the planned reconstruction with UNESCO , strengthening the road transport infrastructure and utilities, provision of water supply and drainage systems, gas, heat and electricity. Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev informed about the plans for developing the Smart City project in Turkestan.

It should be noted that, on behalf of the Head of State, each region of the country conducts the development and construction of separate infrastructure projects in the city of Turkestan. In this regard, in the selector mode, the Prime Minister heard the reports of akims of the regions and cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent on the work progress. Also during the meeting, the heads of construction companies involved in the development and construction of the region spoke on the issue. Among them are the President of the Build Investment Group Aidyn Rakhimbayev, General Director of Highvill Kazakhstan Kang John-De, the Chairman of the Board of Basis-A Alexander Belovich, President of the Mabetex Group Afrim Pacolli, Technical Director at Sembol Construction JSC Yelken Selcuk.

“The Head of State pays special attention to the development of the city of Turkestan,” the Prime Minister stressed, noting that “each object is assigned a specific leader, and there are clear deadlines for its implementation. It is necessary to conduct a coordinated work on the effective solution of the tasks. All regions have the necessary resources.”

“We must, by joint efforts without delay, proceed to the implementation of the instructions set by the Head of State,” said Mamin, “to make the city of Turkestan a highly developed regional center and a large tourist, cultural and spiritual center.”
