Prime Minister Askar Mamin discusses implementation of joint projects in Kazakhstan with leadership of Airbus

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a meeting with Vice President of Airbus Alberto Gutierrez.

The parties discussed the creation of a certified regional Center for the maintenance and repair of military and civil aircraft produced by the company in Kazakhstan, on the basis of Kazakhstan Aviation Industry LLP.

During the negotiations, particular attention was paid to the prospects for including the products of the joint venture JV Qalam LLP into the Airbus production chain, as well as increasing the supply of Kazakhstani raw materials for the production of the company’s aircraft.

To date, Kazakhstan is implementing joint projects with Airbus on the basis of Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering LLP, Kazakhstan Aviation Industry LLP and SP Galam LLP.

On Sep. 1, 2021, a contract was signed for the purchase of two Airbus A400M heavy-duty military transport aircraft for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan. The aircraft is capable of performing air transportation within the framework of military, civilian humanitarian missions, and is effective for organizing a rapid response in emergency situations.

The contract for the supply of Airbus A400M includes a package of services for personnel training and organization of technical support. The delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for 2024.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, Ministers of Defense Murat Bektanov and others.
