Automotive gasoline production fully covers domestic consumption — Ministry of Energy

The results of socio-economic development and the implementation of the republican budget for January-October 2019 were considered at the regular government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin. First Vice Minister of Energy Makhambet Dosmukhambetov reported on the results of the energy complex development for 10 months.

According to the Ministry of Energy, for 10 months of 2019, oil and condensate production reached 74.8 million tons with an increase of 0.3% compared to the same period in 2018 or 102% to the plan for 10 months of 2019.

“This year, three major oil and gas projects were successfully overhauled: in Kashagan, the overhaul was completed 15 days ahead of schedule, in Tengiz — 3 days, and repairs were carried out in Karachaganak from Sep. 15, 2019, to Oct. 13, 2019. Despite the shutdown of the main production, the production rates on the projects exceed the plans,” said the first vice minister.

For 10 months of 2019, Kashagan produced 11.5 million tons with an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period in 2018 and 6.4% to the plan. Tengiz produced 24.6 million tons with an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period in 2018 and 2.5% of the plan. Production at Karachaganak amounted to 9.1 million tons, which is 9% less than last year, but with an increase of 2.2% compared to the plan for 10 months of this year.

According to Dosmukhambetov, taking into account the rate of production, the Ministry increased the forecast for annual production in the country to 90.5 million tons, this may exceed the fact of 2018 in the amount of 90.4 million tons.

“The volume of gas production for 10 months of this year amounted to 46.3 billion cubic meters with an increase of 1.5% compared to the same period in 2018. Oil refining for 10 months of this year amounted to 14.17 million tons, with an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2018, but less than the plan for 10 months of this year by 1.2%. The plan for 2019 is 17 million tons, the forecast has been increased to 17.1 million tons,” he said.

In turn, the volume of production of the main petroleum products - gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel and fuel oil from the beginning of the year amounted to 10.5 million tons with an increase of 10.2% compared to the same period in 2018. Gasoline produced 3.6 million tons, or 112.5% ​​compared to the same period in 2018.

“The volume of gasoline production fully covers the domestic consumption of the country. Since July 2019, export of gasoline was opened; export volume amounted to 42.6 thousand tons. In general, the situation in the oil market is stable, there is no shortage in the fuel and lubricants market,” the first vice minister informed.

As of Nov. 11, 2019, in Kazakhstan, the average retail price for AI-92 gasoline is — 148.5 tenge.

Jet fuel produced 524.5 thousand tons or 182% compared to the same period in 2018. Diesel fuel produced 4.1 million tons, or 108.1% of the same period in 2018. As of Nov. 11, 2019, in Kazakhstan, the average retail price for summer diesel fuel is 193 tenge.

Nov. 11, 2019, the amount of fuel and lubricant residues in the domestic market of the country is: for AI-92 gasoline — 185.2 thousand tons, for diesel fuel — 133.1 thousand tons.

In addition, as part of the diesel fuel supply schedule, 394 thousand tons should be delivered to agricultural producers, of which as of Nov. 8, 2019, 366.5 thousand tons or 92.8% has been shipped.

Commercial gas production amounted to 27.12 billion cubic meters, or 98.6% compared to the same period in 2018. The volume of domestic consumption of marketable gas amounted to 11.8 billion cubic meters with an increase of 3% compared to the same period in 2018. Gas exports amounted to 15.3 billion m3, or 91.1% compared to the same period in 2018.

Electricity generation amounted to 85.9 billion kWh or 98.1% compared to the same period in 2018. In general, the volume of production corresponds to the volume of consumption in the country.

In the electricity generation sector, over 10 months 2019, 14 renewable energy facilities with a capacity of 402 MW were put into production. By the end of the year, 4 new renewable energy facilities with a capacity of 104.8 MW will be commissioned.

“The volume of renewable energy generation for 9 months of this year amounted to 1.7 billion kW / h with an increase of 65% compared to the same period in 2018. The share of renewable energy in electricity production is about 2%. In the whole country in comparison with 2018, the number of renewable energy facilities in 2019 increased by 20 objects: from 67 to 87, the total capacity of renewable energy facilities increased 1.9 times: from 537 MW in 2018 up to 1,042 MW in 2019,” said the first vice minister.

In addition, the volume of uranium production amounted to 18.7 thousand tons with an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2018 or by 0.8% compared to the plan for 10 months of the current year.
