17th Kazakh International Exhibition opened in Nur-Sultan

Today Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov took part in Medtech, first international forum on medical technology. The forum took place as part of Astana Zdorovie-2021 17th Kazakh International Exhibition.

The event is attended by leading domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies that develop and manufacture medicines.

Addressing the participants of the forum, Tugzhanov noted that holding this forum during a pandemic was very relevant: “The pandemic has shown that today it is necessary not only to provide oneself with vaccines, medicines, but also medical equipment. In Kazakhstan, we have made this a priority for ourselves. We have great potential and opportunities."

The Deputy Prime Minister said that in pursuance of the instructions of the Head of State, the Government adopted a special Comprehensive Plan for the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Kazakhstan, the implementation of which will allow to increase the share of medicines and medical devices of domestic production up to 50% by 2025.

Speaking about the further development of the infrastructure of the healthcare system, Tugzhanov said that by 2025 it is planned to build at least 20 modern hospitals, 3 cancer centers, 12 laboratories, a center for laboratory and technical testing of medical devices. When equipping them with medical equipment, priority will be given to domestic manufacturers.

The Deputy Prime Minister also visited the pavilions of the exhibition participants and wished the representatives of pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of medical equipment fruitful work.
