The Head of State holds a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev

During the meeting, the Head of State was informed about the main results of the legislative activity of the third session of the VI convocation of the upper house of the Parliament and the plan of legislative work for the forthcoming session. This is reported by the press service of Akorda.

"The next session is scheduled to consider a large number of bills in the field of economics, as well as a number of international documents. The government is preparing a whole package of legislative initiatives, on which we need to work. We continue to work on the implementation of the previously adopted programs for infrastructure and industrial development, the implementation of the Five Presidential Social Initiatives," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.

Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev reported that 84 deputies of the Senate had been passed following the results of the previous session, including in the sphere of taxation, customs regulation, budget administration, and others.

In the context of ratifying the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, the President of Kazakhstan separately focused on the results of the Fifth Summit of the Caspian States.

"The heads of five states signed the convention of the Caspian Sea, to which we have been going for more than 20 years. All international experts note the importance of this decision, which will contribute to further development of the city of Aktau and Mangistau region, creation of new jobs in the region, promotion of services and tourism," the Head of State said.
