Prime Minister Askar Mamin participates in signing of the Charter of new Turkic Chamber of Commerce

Prime Minister Askar Mamin took part in the ceremony of signing the Charter of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of a meeting of the Turkic Business Council held at the XII Astana Economic Forum.

Chairman of the Board of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Ablay Myrzakhmetov, President of the Azerbaijan National Confederation of Entrepreneurs Mammad Musayev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Marat Sharshekeev, President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcıklioglu signed the charter.

The transformation of the Turkic Business Council into an international organization will give a new impetus to the development of economic cooperation between the Turkic countries. This will expand business cooperation and increase the flow of investment into the economy of Kazakhstan.

At present, the total GDP of the Turkic countries is more than $1 trillion, the population exceeds 150 million people. These countries annually import products for more than $260 billion. In turn, the single chamber will create the basis for an increase in production within these countries, i.e., to ensure collective import substitution.

Prime Minister Mamin noted that the Turkic Chamber was created on the initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev in order to strengthen regional development.

“The Government of Kazakhstan supports and assists the Turkic Council in its work and development. On our side, on behalf of the Government of Kazakhstan, we fully welcome this idea,” said Mamin, expressing hope that the creation of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry will give a new serious impetus to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the business communities of the countries.
