EAEU member states agreed on strategy for ensuring maximum efficiency of EAEU single market

Discussions regarding the draft document defining the strategic directions of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 were held Feb. 14, 2020, in Moscow.

The meeting was held by the new Chair of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The Kazakh delegation was headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov.

As a result of the discussions, the EAEU member states came to a consensus on the issues of maximizing the efficiency of the EAEU single market, creating the digital space of the EAEU, ensuring digitalization of the public procurement process and access to them, implementing cooperation projects, improving the EAEU institutional base, etc.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue discussion of the draft Strategic Directions at the next meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council.

The strategic directions under discussion are viewed through the prism of Kazakhstan’s interests aimed at maximizing the economic benefits for us from deepening economic integration processes.

Recall that the draft Strategic Directions is being developed to implement the Declaration adopted in December 2018 on the further development of integration processes within the EAEU.
