Gulshara Abdykalikova participates in VIII Eurasian Forum of Higher Education Leaders

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova took part in the Eighth Eurasian Forum of Leaders of Higher Education "Graduates Ready for the Future," held at Nazarbayev University.

It was also attended by the Minister of Education and Science Kulyash Shamshidinova, President of Nazarbayev University of Shigeo Katsu, representatives of government agencies, international organizations, foreign universities, as well as leaders, teachers and students of the country's universities.

In her greeting speech, Abdykalikova quoted the words of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev: “A new global civilization is being born with a digital society and a knowledge economy, and our country should meet these challenges of the time. And young people should become a key factor in the competitiveness of our country in the modern world.”

Abdykalikova noted that the forum had become a systematic platform for the development of main ideas and projects for improving human capital. In Kazakhstan, one of the priorities of state policy is the development of education. There is a multi-level system. The legislative base is being improved. One of the evidences of progressive development is an increase in the number of universities to 131, with over 540 thousand students enrolled in them.

Today, Nazarbayev University is the flagship of higher education in the country. This year, 963 specialists, including 565 bachelors, 378 masters and 20 PhDs, will graduate.

The forum participants comprehensively discussed the concept of continuing education, as well as issues of education of future leaders and the formation of an industrial-academic ecosystem.
