Yeraly Tugzhanov chairs meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing Spread of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan

Today Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov chaired a meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported that due to the growing spread of COVID-19, all regions have adopted enhanced restrictive measures.

At the same time, over the past 2 weeks, there has been an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in the Mangystau region by 2.7 times, in the Aktobe region – by 2.1 times.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the increase in the incidence of CVI in these regions directly depends on the low rates of immunization of the population. So, in the Mangystau region, only 19.7% of the population of the subject contingent was vaccinated, in the Aktobe region – 31.4%, in the West Kazakhstan region – 31.6%.

The chair of the Commission instructed to strengthen the work on informing the population about the benefits of vaccination.

It was also noted about the insufficient work of monitoring groups to control compliance with the quarantine regime, especially in Almaty, Mangystau and Aktobe regions.

In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister noted the need to increase the coverage of vaccination of the population against CVI.
