Deputy Prime Minister Berdibek Saparbayev hosted a reception on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the capital's Support Center for the Zhanya Family Institute.

Residents of the capital raised the problematic issues of medical care, social services, housing and medicines, employment and others.

Elena Solonik, caring for an elderly disabled mother, complained about the untimely provision and poor quality of rehabilitation and hygiene provided by the social protection authorities.

“The wheelchair that we bought eight years ago is better than the one we were given this year. We received hygiene products only yesterday, their quality also leaves much to be desired,” said Solonik.

The deputy prime minister instructed the city’s employment and social welfare department to take care of this issue and provide people with disabilities with quality rehabilitation and hygiene products.

“We know about this problem. It applies not only to your family, but to all disabled people in the country. Therefore, next year we will launch the Social Services Portal. It has already been launched in pilot mode in the Aktobe region. Using this portal, people with disabilities will be able to independently choose services and technical means of rehabilitation,” Saparbayev noted.

Nuzigul Akan asked for help in resolving the issue of assigning disability to her son. The young man underwent a complex heart operation, he needs another operation.

It was entrusted to public health and social protection authorities to carry out the necessary examinations and resolve this issue within the framework of the current legislation.

In total, the deputy prime minister received 12 citizens that day. After listening to all the requests and suggestions of the applicants, Berdibek Saparbayev clarified and instructed the relevant state bodies to assist in resolving issues within the framework of the law.
