Berdibek Saparbayev holds meeting of working group on modernization of pension system

Deputy Prime Minister Berdibek Saparbayev chaired a regular meeting of the working group on further improvement of the pension system on Friday, Jan. 24, in Ukimet Uyi.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Birzhan Nurymbetov, Chairman of the Council of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan Elena Bakhmutova, Member of the Board of JSC First Heartland Jysan Bank Bolat Zhamishev, non-staff advisers to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duysenova and Olzhas Khudaibergenov, as well as representatives of government bodies and non-governmental organizations, Atameken NCE, experts and public figures.

In general, the Head of State supported the proposals of the working group. Now, taking into account the President’s instructions, it is necessary to continue our work, including accelerating the further modernization of the pension system, working out issues of reducing administrative expenses, increasing the minimum wage and the effectiveness of the funded pension system,” Saparbayev noted.

Also, the working group will continue to work on the initiative to use part of the pension savings.

The proposals on the use of pension savings for the purchase of housing and payment of expensive treatment were supported. It is necessary to carry out additional calculations in order to gradually expand the reach of citizens who can use this right,” the deputy prime minister added.

Summing up the meeting, Berdibek Saparbayev instructed to develop a draft Roadmap with tasks, dates and responsible persons before the end of January 2020.
