Askar Mamin meets with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Prime Minister Askar Mamin met with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Nov. 1 in Tashkent.

“The first President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, together with you, laid the foundation for bringing bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to a new level of strategic cooperation. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev maintains the continuity of foreign policy and pays special attention to strengthening bilateral cooperation,” Mamin said.

The Head of Government emphasized that Kazakh-Uzbek relations today have been brought to a qualitatively high level of cooperation, as evidenced by the dynamics of interaction at almost all levels.

During the negotiations, a wide range of issues was discussed on the further development of cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, energy, transit and transport, construction, textile, automotive, cultural and humanitarian, tourism and other fields.

According to the results of 9 months of 2019, mutual trade between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan increased by 25% to $2.6 billion. In the coming years, it is planned to bring trade to $5 billion.

Tomorrow, Prime Minister Askar Mamin will attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
