Askar Mamin introduces new Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Serikkali Brekeshev

Prime Minister Askar Mamin introduced the new minister, Serikkali Brekeshev, to the staff of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.

The Head of Government noted that the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources has been assigned important tasks to ensure the effective implementation of the new Environmental Code, the preparation of a Low-Carbon Development Concept, an increase in the area of ​​the forest fund, and the further development of the water resources management system and fisheries.

“The Head of State instructed to create a National Geological Service. It is necessary to pay special attention to the development of geological exploration and comprehensive study of mineral resources, the creation of an open digital base of geological information,” Mamin said.

Serikkali Brekeshev was born on Oct. 14, 1972, in Pavlodar. In 1995 he graduated from the Atyrau Polytechnic Institute with a degree in oil and gas field development.

Over the years, he held executive positions in the Ministries of Energy and Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, KazTransGas JSC. Since March 2020, he has held the post of Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
