Over 8 million Kazakhstanis fully vaccinated against coronavirus

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

First Vice Minister of Healthcare Marat Shoranov reported on the stability of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan. The number of patients receiving inpatient and outpatient treatment has significantly decreased. The workload of infectious beds is 29%, resuscitation — 23%.

The North Kazakhstan region remains in the red zone in terms of the spread of coronavirus infection, in the yellow zone — the city of Nur-Sultan, Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay and Pavlodar regions. The rest of the regions and the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole are in the green zone.

To date, about 8.8 million people have been vaccinated with the first component — this is 76.6% of the adult population, over 8 million people or 70.8% of the adult population — with the second component.

Taking into account the emergence of a new variant, Omicron, abroad, the Head of Government instructed to strengthen sanitary and epidemiological control at the state border, keep the situation inside the country under constant control, continue the practice of wearing masks indoors and in transport, and maintaining social distance.

The ministries of healthcare, information and social development, akimats were instructed to strengthen work to increase the rate of vaccination to form the collective immunity of the population.
