November 2 in Astana, within the framework of the session of CIS Heads of Government Council, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held bilateral meetings with Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Ismayil oglu Mammadov and First Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
At the bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Ismayil oglu Mammadov, issues of further deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation in agriculture, energy, transport and logistics, food and metallurgical industry, pharmaceuticals, as well as joint implementation of investment projects were discussed, including in the field of industrialization and development of information technology.
There is a positive trend in trade and economic cooperation between the countries in 2018. This was facilitated by active joint work on promoting exports and increasing trade following the meeting of the Heads of the two states in 2017. At the same time, the role of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission and the implementation of the Roadmap to expand trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan for 2017–2020 are significant, providing for specific measures in the areas of trade, energy, agriculture, transport, logistics, etc.
In order to implement agreements in the field of cultural relations, in Baku in November-December 2018 it is planned to hold the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting with First Vice Premier of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the energy, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as in the chemical industry, civil aviation, engineering and implementation of joint investment projects in the IT sphere were discussed.
Prospects for deliveries to Armenia of metals, food products, animal and vegetable production, railway engineering were considered.
According to the parties, today all the conditions have been created for the development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the countries. The Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation is actively working.
The meeting participants also indicated that common aspirations for the development of information technologies will create mutually beneficial conditions for the development of Kazakhstan-Armenian business based on the principles of a market economy and fair competition.
Special attention during the conversation was paid to issues of regional security and the fight against terrorism.
