November 1 in Ukimet Uyi, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a conference call on water management and further development of irrigated agriculture in the country.

The issues of water supply and water security in Astana, as well as promising projects to improve the system of irrigated agriculture were discussed at the meeting. 

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture Umirzak Shukeyev, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture A. Mamytbekov, chairman of the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture I. Abishev presented an analysis of the current situation and a number of decisions on the tasks. In particular, the approaches to the reconstruction of the protective dam, protection from flood waters, construction of a backup source of drinking water supply for the capital and the new reservoir, as well as restoration of demanded irrigated lands were considered. 

In the mode of video conferencing, the ministers of national economy T. Suleimenov, finance - A. Smailov,for investments and development - Zh. Kassymbek, akims of Astana B. Sultanov and Akmola region M. Murzalin participated in the discussion.
