In Ukimet Uyi Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on the development of the tourism industry in the country.

At the meeting, the projects of the State Program for the Development of Domestic and Inbound Tourism for 2019-2025, the industry draft law and the country tourism brand of Kazakhstan were presented.

In addition, they discussed the master plans for the development of the Top Ten destinations of the republican map of the country's touristization.

In his Address of Jan. 10, 2018, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev called the development of inbound and domestic tourism one of the promising sources for any region creating every tenth job in the world. In this regard, the Head of State instructed the Government to take a set of measures for the development of the industry, including the simplification of visa procedures, infrastructure development and the removal of barriers.

As Minister of Culture and Sport Arystanbek Mukhamediuly noted in his report, the ten key measures for the development of tourism proposed in the draft state program will give 80% of the effect to achieve the targets. Among them are the identification of priority tourist areas, concessional lending, state support for SME projects in tourism, marketing and promotion, improvement of visa and migration policies, modernization of border crossing points, liberalization of airspace, the introduction of a new model for managing national parks and other measures to stimulate tourism.

The corresponding draft law developed in parallel and presented during the meeting is intended to create the necessary legal basis for the implementation of the tasks set.

A package of specific proposals were directly made by representatives of the tourist business of the country. The Head of the Association of the tourist cluster of the Almaty region D. Kydyrbayev spoke about the prospects for the development of the ski cluster. The Head of the Society of Hunters of Kazakhstan K. Dzhumaliyev made proposals on his direction. Deputy Director General of Airport Management Group LLP A. Muratbayev informed about the advantages of airspace liberalization.

The ministers of the national economy T. Suleimenov, finance A. Smailov, labor and social protection of the population M. Abylkassymova also took part in the discussion in the mode of video conferencing.

Following the meeting, Bakytzhan Sagintayev instructed the Ministry of Culture and Sports, together with the government agencies concerned, taking into account the suggestions made to finalize the draft and submit it to the Government for consideration.
