September 27 in Ukimet Uyi the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired a meeting of the National Commission on the translation of the Kazakh alphabet into Latin script.

At the meeting, the terminological and methodological working groups’ work results were considered, and the draft basic rules for the spelling of the new Kazakh alphabet on the basis of Latin graphics and the keyboard layout of the new alphabet in computer systems were discussed.

Ministers of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, education and science Yerlan Sagadiyev, information and communications Dauren Abayev and the scientific secretary of the National Scientific and Practical Center Til-Kazyna after Shayakhmetov, A. Fazylzhanova made reports during the meeting.

General Director of the National Scientific and Practical Center Til-Kazyna G. Yesim, director of the Institute of Linguistics named after A. Baitursynov, E. Kazhibek, Director of the Olke publishing house M. Kulkenov, Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at Abay Kazakh National University T. Ayapova, chief researcher of the Institute of Linguistics named after A. Baitursynov, A. Zhunisbek and others took part in the discussions.
