Government meeting considers the issues of preparation for the heating season

Today, during the Government meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the process of preparation of the country's energy enterprises for the heating season was discussed.

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev reported that the preparation for the forthcoming autumn-winter period at the energy enterprises of Kazakhstan is in the final stage. Sectoral conference calls are held monthly with the participation of interested state bodies and companies to review problematic issues and take measures to resolve them.

In the current year, repairs of 10 power units, 61 power boilers and 49 turbines were planned. At the beginning of September, work has been completed on 4 power units, 28 boilers and 22 turbines. At different stages of completion, work is underway on 4 power units, 30 boilers and 21 turbines. It was noted that in general the work is on schedule.

It was also planned to repair power transmission lines with a total length of 25 thousand km and 6 300 substations. Currently, 17 thousand km of power transmission lines have been repaired, which is 71% of the plan. Repair work is also carried out according to the established schedule. A coal reserve of 3.7 million tons was created at power plants, which is 24% more than in the previous year, as well as 82 thousand tons of fuel oil.

In addition, it was noted that a meeting was held in the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of creating a regulatory fuel stock on energy sources and coal transportation with the participation of representatives of KTZh NC JSC, forwarder and coal mining companies, coal power plants. Following the results of the meeting, corresponding assignments were given.

Particular attention is paid to the preparation of energy facilities for work in autumn and winter conditions in the Karaganda region, including CHP-2 of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau. According to the developed schedule, 3 boilers and 1 turbine are planned to be repaired at the CHPP. At the beginning of September, repair of 2 boilers has been completed, boiler No. 6 (until November 22) and turbine No. 2 (until September 30) are being repaired.

In addition, the Minister reported that the facilities of the country's gas transportation infrastructure operate in a regular mode, their maintenance is carried out in accordance with the schedules and plans.

Gas supply to the southern regions of Kazakhstan in the heating season 2017-2018 is planned to be provided by: gas supplies via the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline; the BGR-TBA gas pipeline, the Beineu-Shymkent gas pipeline and the Amangeldinskoye gas field.

The required gas reserves in underground storage facilities have been provided, 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas or 96% of the planned volume have already been injected.
