The main events of the week from August 28 to September 2, 2017
 

 

•  On Tuesday the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired a regular meeting of the Government, during which the forecast of the country's social and economic development for 2018–2022 was considered and a draft budget for 2018–2020 was adopted.

•  On August 28 Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting in Ukimet Uyi on preparations for holding the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Astana.

•  On August 29, at a government meeting Bakytzhan Sagintayev presented the Deputy Prime Ministers, appointed by the decrees (hyperlinks) of the Head of State: Y. Dossayev and A. Zhumagaliyev to the Cabinet of Ministers, having assigned them supervised areas of responsibility.

•  During the week the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan also held a number of bilateral meetings.

•  On Monday, a meeting took place with US Deputy Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette. On the same day, Bakytzhan Sagintayev discussed prospects for cooperation with representatives of the Chinese company Cathay Industrial Biotech Ltd, headed by Chairman of the Board Liu Xucai.

•  On Thursday, August 31, Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain Alan Duncan (hyperlink).

•  On Saturday in Ukimet Uyi, a meeting on the draft state program "Digital Kazakhstan" was held.

•  Also this week a series of press conferences devoted to the implementation of the Address of the Head of State "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" was held. The topic of the briefings concerned measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017, to strengthen the prevention of religious extremism and radicalism, to ensure macroeconomic stability, and to implement measures to radically improve and expand the business environment.
