The main events of the week from 21 to 26 August 2017

• Last week in Akorda the Head of State N. Nazarbayev chaired a meeting on the activities of the National Commission for Modernization. The Prime Minister B.Sagintayev, Chairman of the Majilis N.Nigmatulin, Head of the Presidential Administration A.Dzhaksybekov, members of the Government, heads of central state bodies and national companies took part in the work. The reports of the heads of the working groups on the implementation of the Plan of the Nation "100 Concrete Steps" were heard at the meeting.

• On Tuesday, during the regular meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister, the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State on socio-economic development of the regions and the realization of state programs were reviewed. Also, drafts of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Customs Regulation" and the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts on Improving Budget Legislation" were on the agenda.

• On August 21, Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting of the Higher Scientific and Technical Commission under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where priority areas for science development and a draft scientific and technical program of the Ministry of Education and Science "Development of Original Medicines and Commercialization of Their Research Results for 2018-2020" were discussed.

• On Thursday, August 24, in Astana the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan delivered the address at the opening of the annual international forum "Eurasian Week", and took part in the discussion of urgent topics for the further development of the Eurasian Economic Union.

• On the same day, Bakytzhan Sagintayev held meetings on the issues of the EXPO-2017 International Exhibition, held in the country and the further implementation of the project of the International Financial Center on its territory.

• On Friday, August 25, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Oil and Gas Industry.

• On Saturday Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on issues of Digital Economy.
