During the briefing in the press center of the Government the Vice Minister of Energy Bakytzhan Dzhaksaliev spoke about the implementation of the State Program of Infrastructure Development "Nurly Zhol" in the energy sector.

The Vice Minister said that the goal of the project "Construction of the 500 kV Ekibastuz-Shulbinskaya HPS (Semey) - Ust-Kamenogorsk" line as part of the "Nurly Zhol" program is to increase the capacity of the networks in the North-East section, ensure the coverage of deficits of EKR regardless of the transit of electricity through the networks of the UES of Russia and the issuance of the full capacity of Shulbinskaya HPS (ShHPS) with the introduction of a counter regulator - Bulakskaya HPS.

"Project implementation period: 2011-2017. The cost of the project is 53.3 billion tenge. Financing is fully carried out at the expense of KEGOC company. To date, all construction and installation works have been successfully completed," Bakytzhan Dzhaksaliyev said.

The establishment of the constructed facilities was started on December 6, 2016 during the national teleconference with the participation of the Head of State within the framework of the "Industrialization Day". At the same time, construction and installation works for the first stage of the project were completed in 2016, ahead of schedule, instead of the planned time in 2017.

Another project that will be completed in 2018 is the construction of the 500 kV ShHPS-Aktogay-Taldykorgan-Almaty transmission lines.

"The implementation of the project will increase the transit potential of the national electric grid in the direction of North-South Kazakhstan, ensure the coverage of the energy needs of electrified sections of railways, energy-intensive mining facilities, create conditions for the development of border areas and large-scale development of renewable energy potential, Zone with a single electrical system of Kazakhstan," B. Zhaksaliyev said.
