Today at the briefing in the press center of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice Minister for Investment and Development Roman Sklyar told about realization of the State Program of Infrastructure Development "Nurly Zhol".

Roman Sklyar said that since the beginning of the execution of the State Program "Nurly Zhol" in 2015-2016, 2 thousand km of roads of national significance were covered with construction and renovation, of which 1.3 thousand km of the parameters I and II of the technical categories have been commissioned.

"This year, the state program provides for the implementation of 22 road projects with a total length of 4.4 thousand km," - the Vice Minister said.

On the Center-South project the reconstruction of the Astana-Temirtau and Almaty-Kapshagai sections with a total length of 275 km were completed in 2016. Reconstruction of the Temirtau-Karaganda section of 14 km continues.

According to the Center-East project 230 km were put into operation from the beginning of implementation.

Under the project Center-West, the reconstruction of the Astana-Kostanay highway and the Aktobe-Karabutak-Denisovka section has been completed. Until 2020, we plan to complete the Denisovka-Kostanay site (114 km).

According to the speaker, the implementation of the passing projects Kapshagay-Taldykorgan, Astana-Petropavlovsk-Russian border and the Ural-Kamenka is continuing.

"We also started a new project: Zhetybai-Zhanaozen, Taldykorgan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Merke-Burylbaytal, Kalbatau-Maikapshagai, Usharal-Dostyk, Beineu-Akzhigit, Taskesken-Bakhty, Osinovsky pass Shchuchinsk-Zerenda with a length of 2 thousand kilometers." said Roman Sklyar.

Over the first half of the year, 112 billion tenge were used for the projects being implemented, 80 000 people are involved.

In addition, he noted that in December 2016 in the port of Kuryk a railway ferry complex with a capacity of 4 million tons was launched. Also, this year the construction of an automobile ferry complex with a capacity of 2 million tons was started. The cost of the project is 67 billion tenge.

Also the Vice Minister commented on the work of the new railway station in Astana.

"The capacity of the new station is 35 thousand passengers a day, and in conjunction with the current station - 47 thousand passengers per day, which fully covers the metropolitan passenger service, including at the time of the international exhibition. Since the beginning of operation of the railway station, about 305 thousand passengers have been serviced.

The construction of a new terminal and the reconstruction of the runway of Astana airport have also been completed. The capacity of the airport is 8.2 million passengers per year or 2,525 passengers per hour," he said.

Roman Sklyar said that the large-scale implementation of infrastructure projects in the framework of the program "Nurly Zhol" will achieve an increase in traffic speed, reduce transportation costs, improve service and transit potential as a whole.
