Today, during the briefing in the Government’s press center, the Vice Minister of Healthcare Lyazat Aktayeva told about the current dynamics of oncology diseases in Kazakhstan as well as about the plans to improve the situation in this sphere.  

She informed that in Kazakhstan mortality from oncology diseases is decreasing and at the same time the work on improvement of such criteria, as early detection of cancer. Also there is a factor of patients’ survival rate, when during five years and longer from the moment of diagnosing a patient is observed by doctors.

“Obviously, even though dynamically this situation is improving, in comparison with other OECD countries we still have things to work out, since the figures of the OECD countries are targeted for us. Therefore, the work is in progress, including in the sphere of new technologies introduction. Currently, a project of the National Scientific Oncology Center in Astana is being developed, and accordingly within the framework of this institution technologies will be developed that are not present either in Kazakhstan or in the CIS countries," said Lyazat Aktayeva.

She stressed that all the work done as a result would lead to a significant improvement in the quality of life of patients and the quality of treatment.
