MID RK reports about expansion of transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Nation’s Plan

The implementation of the "100 Concrete Steps" of the Nation's Plan has significantly expanded transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan. This was said by the first Vice Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Alik Aidarbayev during a briefing in the press center of the Government.

The Vice Minister reported that in order to create an international aviation hub near Almaty, in the framework of the implementation of the Nation’s Plan, the Head of State defined the operator of the project - MG Holding, which is engaged in attracting investments for the project from Singapore.

In addition, Air Astana, whose fleet consists of 31 aircrafts with an average age of 6-8 years, is actively developing.

"By the end of 2020, the delivery of 10 aircrafts of the Airbus A320neo family is expected. In 2019 two Boeing 787 aircraft is expected. In addition, KTZh together with Air Astana is working to create a cargo airline," A. Aidarbayev said.

He also said that to ensure transport accessibility of the Astana MFC, direct flights from Astana to Frankfurt, London, Dubai, Seoul, Beijing, Paris are currently being carried out. In 2017, nine new international air routes were opened from Astana to Delhi, Warsaw, Helsinki, Budapest, Beijing, Yerevan, Kiev, Batumi and Mineralnye Vody. In 2019, it is planned to open communications with Tokyo, and Singapore, and in 2020 with Shanghai and New York.
