Y. Birtanov: Medical universities of Kazakhstan to attract foreign specialists

Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yelzhan Birtanov, during a briefing in the Government's press center, spoke about plans to attract foreign specialists to medical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan to improve the level of students' training.

"Foreign academic teaching staff will be attracted to significantly improve the quality of medical training at universities. Today two higher educational institutions attract specialists at the level of top management. In the future, it is also planned to continue attracting foreign specialists to improve training programs for doctors," Y. Birtanov said.

The Minister noted that the presence of foreign professors will help to create a layer of specialists who will be able to provide highly qualified assistance and work with modern equipment.

"This is the so-called mentoring program, when the invited professors will work side by side with our teachers in medical schools and help them to implement modern training programs. This practice has successfully proved itself in the Nazarbayev University medical school, where a lot of foreign specialists work," summed up the Minister of Healthcare.
