128 projects worth 1.2 trillion tenge to be introduced in 2021 in Kazakhstan as part of Industrialization Map

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the implementation of the Industrialization Map projects was considered.

Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, akims of Karaganda Region Zhenis Kassymbek, Akmola Region — Yermek Marzhikpayev, Nur-Sultan — Altay Kulginov.

"The Head of State of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan put the task of increasing by 2025 the export of the manufacturing industry by 1.5 times and productivity by 30%. The key element in solving this task is the timely and high-quality implementation of the Industrialization Map projects," Mamin said.

This year, the introduction of 128 projects of Industrialization Map in the amount of 1.2 trillion tenge is scheduled. This will increase the volume of production by 1 trillion tenge, exports of $800 million, create about 12 thousand jobs in such industries as the food industry, construction of building materials, metallurgy, engineering, energy and light industry. The most significant projects of Industrialization Map for the current year are the modernization of the Zhairere GOK and the construction of a processing plant (launched, 145 billion tenge, 381 jobs), expanding the processing capacity of the Aktogai GOK (396 billion tenge, 700 jobs), and the construction of the Saryarka Ferroalloy Plant (35 billion tenge, 400 jobs), opening of transformer production in Petropavlovsk (launched, 10 billion tenge, 300 jobs), aluminum banks in Shymkent (23.4 billion tenge, 145 jobs), location center for the production of agricultural machinery and autocomponents in Kostanay region (launched, 12.6 billion tenge, 450 jobs).

The positive dynamics of project entry is celebrated in Karaganda, Almaty regions and Shymkent. For example, these regions introduced such projects such as the production of buses and special equipment, polyethylene pipes, sewing, medical, rubber and plastic products, soft drinks, methyl rubbing of butyl ether and polypropylene, IU of WES in Shelek Corridor, Construction of a processing plant and others.

The Prime Minister instructed the akims of all regions to keep the implementation of each project on personal control and until the end of the year to ensure their commissioning.

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development is entrusted to strengthen work with investors, paying priority to such criteria for project selection, as export potential, high level of localization, import substitution, availability of raw materials.
