Timur Shaimergenov appointed Vice Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan

By the decree of the Government, Timur Shaimergenov was appointed to the post of the Vice Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Timur Shaimergenov was born in 1982 in the Zhambyl region. In 2004, he graduated from the Institute of International Professions in Almaty, in 2009 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of political science at the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2009-2017, he attended executive education programs at Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, Pennsylvania, and Columbia Universities.

He has the qualifications of a specialist in international relations and security, strategic management and risk management. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, and English.

He started his career in 2004 at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, held various positions at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the Security Council of Kazakhstan. He is a member of the Public Council under the MFA RK.

Prior to his appointment to the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry, he worked in the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was awarded with medals "25 years of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan," "20 years of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan," "25 years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan," "25 years of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan," "25 years of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan."
