Chairman of Committee for Industrial Development and Industrial Safety of MID RK appointed

By the order of the Minister for Investments and Development, Zhenis Kassymbek, Almas Batanov was appointed to the post of chairman of the Committee for Industrial Development and Industrial Safety of the MID RK.

Almas Batanov was born in 1977 in Almaty. In 2000, he graduated from the Kazakh State Agrarian University with a degree in AIC Information Systems. In 2004 — Almaty University of Technology and Business, specializing in Standardization and Certification. In 2010, under the Bolashak program, he received a Master's degree in Information Technology Management at the University of Nottingham (UK).

He began his career as a leading specialist at the Almaty branch of the Metrology RSE. In 2000-2009, he worked in various positions at the Kazakhs Institute of Metrology.

In 2011-2013, he was the chief expert of the Institute for Economic Research; expert, consultant, referent of the Center for Strategic Studies and Analysis of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan.

From 2013 to 2014, he worked as the Director of the Department of Regional Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2014-2016 — adviser to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

In 2016, he served as deputy chairman of the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

From December 2016 he has worked as Deputy Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
